The Basics: Split Payments, Zero Interest
Sezzle lets you split any purchase into smaller payments with no interest on standard plans. The merchant gets paid in full immediately; you repay over time. It’s available at 47,000+ online stores and anywhere Visa is accepted through the virtual card.
No hard credit check required. Signing up uses a soft inquiry that won’t affect your credit score. You can get approved in as little as 60 seconds.
Step-by-Step: Getting Started
Step 1: Download the App
Available on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play). Create your account with name, email, phone, and date of birth.
Step 2: Link Your Bank
Connect a bank account (recommended for lowest fees) or debit card. This is where your installment payments are pulled from.
Step 3: Get Your Limit
A soft credit check is performed instantly. You’ll receive a spending limit, typically $50–$200 for new users. It grows with on-time payments.
Step 4: Shop & Pay
Choose Sezzle at checkout on partner sites, or generate a virtual Visa card for any retailer. 25% due now, the rest in 3 biweekly payments.
Payment Plans Available
Pay in 4
The most popular option. 25% at checkout + 3 payments every 2 weeks. Zero interest. Works for purchases from $35 to your limit.
Pay in 2
50% now, 50% in 2 weeks. Great for smaller purchases or when you want to pay off quickly. Zero interest.
Pay Monthly
3–48 month financing for larger purchases ($200–$15,000). Interest may apply depending on creditworthiness. Through lending partner.
The Virtual Card: Shop Anywhere
The virtual card is a Visa card number generated in the app. Add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay for in-store use, or copy the details for online checkout. This is how you use Sezzle at stores like Walmart, Amazon, and Target that don’t have a direct checkout button.
Pro tip: Always create a purchase request in the app before using the card. Transactions without an active request will be declined.
Fees to Know About
Pay in 4 and Pay in 2 are interest-free, but a few optional fees exist. Service fees range from $0–$7.49 depending on the merchant. Rescheduling costs up to $7.50. Late payments can incur up to $16.95. The easiest way to pay $0 in fees: link a bank account, use autopay, and shop at partner stores.
How to Increase Your Spending Limit
Your limit grows automatically based on these factors: on-time payment history, account age, identity verification, enrollment in the credit-building program, and maintaining only one active order at a time. Most users see their limit double or triple within 3–6 months of consistent use.
